This month, OnePlus has released several updates for its devices. And now it’s time for OnePlus 9R and OnePlus Nord. Yes, both the phones are getting a new update with bug fixes. A few days back, OnePlus also released the first OxygenOS 12 open beta for the OnePlus 9R which you can check out here. Now let’s see what’s new in OxygenOS 11.2.8.8 for OnePlus 9R and OxygenOS 11.1.9.9 for OnePlus Nord.

The new update for OnePlus Nord and OnePlus 9R does not bring the latest February security patch. So both are still running on the old security patch. The last update for OnePlus 9R was received in January. OnePlus Nord also received its last update at the same time which came with the January security patch.

The new OnePlus 9R update comes with the build number 11.2.8.8.8.LE28DA. And the latest OnePlus Nord update comes with build number 11.1.9.9.AC01xA (x refers to A, B, D). The OnePlus 9R update is available in India while the update for OnePlus Nord is available globally. Since both are incremental OxygenOS 11 updates, they weigh less as compared to the major updates. Talking about changes and features, both the updates come with the same bug fixes. You can check the changelog below.

Like other OxygenOS updates, these updates are also being released in batches. That is, it will be available to users in groups or batches in a few days. So if you are a OnePlus 9R or OnePlus Nord user, you can expect an OTA update on your device in a few days if not already available. To check for updates manually, go to Settings > System > System Update. And if it shows a new update then click on download and install.

Fortunately, OnePlus also allows users to install updates locally. So if you want to update your phone immediately, you can install the OTA zip file. You can get the Incremental OTA zip file on the Oxygen Updater app or from the official OnePlus website. After downloading the correct OTA zip, you can sideload it from System Update > Gear icon > Local Upgrade. Select the OTA file and then it will install on your phone. Reboot and enjoy the new update.

Before upgrading your phone, make sure to take a full backup and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
