The patriarch of the Adani Family, Gautam Adani, who heads an Ahmedabad-based multinational conglomerate, Adani Group, involved in port development and operation, is the second richest man in India and the state topper. Per the IIFL Wealth Hurun Gujarat Rich List 2020, the family recorded a 48 per cent rise in their wealth in a year’s time.
2. Pankaj Patel
Net Worth – $7.1 Billion
Pharma magnate Pankaj Patel, of Cadila Healthcare, which was co-founded by his late father, and his family, who are actively involved in the business have secured the third richest spot.
3. Nimish and Urmish Hasmukh Chudgar
Net Worth – $5.7 Billion
The seventh spot has been tied between brothers Binish, Nimish and Urmish from the Hasmukh Chudgar. The low-profile family owns and operates Intas Pharmaceuticals. According to Forbes, Intas has 15 factories in the world, of which 10 are in India and the rest are located in Europe and Mexico. Notably, in 2019, the pharma company launched an affordable drug, Eleftha, to treat breast cancer.

Karsanbhai Patel is the low-profile founder of India’s most iconic detergent brand: Nirma. Per Forbes, before establishing Nirma as an entity, Patel would mix detergents in his backyard and sell them door-to-door on his bicycle.
