Microsoft releases a new Windows 11 (KB5008353) cumulative update

Microsoft has just released a new cumulative update for Windows 11. The latest build is tagged with a KB5008353 version number. Although, this time’s cumulative update is the optional upgrade and labeled as a “C” release. Microsoft rolls out the update with a new Microsoft account page in Settings, improvements, and fixes. Talking about the changes, then Microsoft is seeding the new update with a bunch of fixes and improvements. As I mentioned earlier, the update brings an overhauled Microsoft account page user interface in the Settings app. Moving to the fixes, then Microsoft addresses an issue that causes a device to stop working when connected to another display, audio service not responding on some devices supported hardware-accelerated Bluetooth audio, volume icon not showing perfectly on the taskbar, alongside some other known issues.

Windows 11 KB5008353 cumulative patch also improves auto-brightness for low light conditions. Here’s the complete changelog shared by Microsoft on its support page.

  • Updates an issue that causes the audio service to stop responding on some devices that support hardware-accelerated Bluetooth audio.
  • Updates an issue that affects icons for apps when the apps are not running. On the taskbar, these icons might display as active as if the apps are running.
  • Updates an issue that incorrectly shows the volume icon in the taskbar as muted.
  • Updates an issue that causes a device to stop working when it’s connected to multiple displays.
  • Updates an issue that might prevent icons from appearing on the taskbar of a secondary display.
  • Improves auto brightness to provide a better response under low light conditions on all the supported systems.

The update is available for both Windows 11 and other compatible systems. You can check the new updates by opening the Settings app then heading over to the Windows update section. As mentioned earlier, it is an optional update, you can tap on Download & Install if you want to upgrade your PC to KB5008353 build.
