Sony rolls out Android 12 update for Xperia Pro with new features!

Like every other Android OEM, Sony is also working on pushing Android 12 update to the eligible models. Recently, Sony kicked off the major upgrade for the Xperia 1 II. Now the company has started rolling out the new update for Xperia Pro. The smartphone was launched back in 2020 with Android 10, later it received its first major OS upgrade in the form of Android 11. Now it starts getting its second major update – Android 12. Sony plants the new firmware on Xperia Pro with the 58.2.A.0.899 software version. As it is a major upgrade, it requires a big chunk of data for downloading, you can connect your phone to a WiFi connection for faster installation. The upgrade is currently available in the US, will be available in other markets very soon. It is seeding with a new monthly security patch. At the time of writing, the changelog of the upgrade is not available to us, but you can access the new Android 12 essentials.
Sony Xperia Pro Android 12 update is tagged with a flurry of new features, we can expect features such as scrolling screenshots, one-handed mode, dim-screen feature, Nearby Share, a stack of privacy features, and improvements. The Xperia users can also access the essentials of Android 12 like new widgets, dynamic theming, a new control center, game dashboard, and more.
The wait is finally over, you can now update your Xperia Pro smartphone to the Android 12 and access the new features. As of now, the update is available to select users, will join more phones in the coming days. You can head over to the Settings > Software Updates and check the new software updates. If the new update is available you can download and install it on your phone, you can wait for some days if the new OTA is not visible on your unit.
Before installing the new update, take a backup of important data and charge your smartphone to at least 50%.
